Palliative Care
Pet palliative care is an emerging field of veterinary science aimed at improving animal quality of life by easing pain, increasing appetite, improving mobility and helping them enjoy their senior years.
A terminal diagnosis can be devastating, but it doesn't mean the journey ends there. Dr Tristan has extensive experience in managing complex medical cases with a focus on providing compassionate palliative care for pets facing cancer and other serious illnesses. We understand the challenges you and your pet are facing and are here to support you every step of the way.
In addition to traditional treatments, we offer integrative approaches including herbal medicines, diet therapy, and acupuncture aimed at slowing cancer progression and supporting overall well-being. These holistic practices are carefully integrated into personalized treatment plans to ensure your pet receives comprehensive care.

Initial Palliative Care Consultation
A quality-of-life assessment can help you gauge your pet’s overall well-being to determine the extent of the treatment plan.
An initial telehealth appointment will be scheduled for your palliative care consultation. As well as reviewing a full medical history, we may make additional suggestions regarding further diagnostics or treatment. We can also discuss complementary therapies for the management of your pet’s condition.
A comprehensive palliative care program may include;
Pharmaceutical Intervention: to manage the symptoms present
Herbal Medicines: Alternative Chinese herbal options for management of the symptoms present
Neutraceuticals: New and emerging options for cancer treatments including stimulating apoptosis and reduced cancer spread
Diet Therapy: Diet is the mainstay of a healthy immune system and new research indicates it plays an important role in the progression of cancer in the body.
Acupuncture: For immune stimulation, appetite stimulation, or treating cancer specific effects.
Our telehealth palliative care consultations are $150

Palliative Care Packages
We have several palliative care packages to choose from. These vary in price and in the scope of the services included. These are billed at either a weekly, monthly (at reduced rate), or at an as-needed basis.
With each package your consultation will be performed at home with Dr Tristan Maugueret. This involves a full nose-to-tail examination to monitor any changes in condition and overall health.
As your pets needs may change regularly as the condition advances we offer full support 7 days a week for professional advice, changes to the treatment plan, or guidance throughout their end of life journey.
When the time comes, we will help you to make the difficult decision at the right time for you and your pet.
